One primary spermatocyte enters meiosis-I and produces two secondary spermatocytes. These secondary spermatocytes are haploids. Each of these two secondary spermatocytes enters the meiosis-II and produces two haploid spermatids. In this way, one diploid primary spermatocyte produces four haploid spermatids.
