    Though water has higher specific heat than land it can absorbs and releases heat slower than land.

    Explanation:

    The specific heat of the water is higher than land, that's why it has the tendency to absorb and release the heat slower as compared to the land. It also takes more heat to increase the temperature for one gram of water by one degree than it also does to increase the temperature of the land. similarly the heat absorbed by the ocean is almost spread in the greater volume as the ocean is a transparent body.
