The diversity of species alive today is related to the process of evolution in a sense that the diversity resulted from the interactions of the organisms and their environments. The organism's ability to continuously adapt to the changing environment, made them more diverse by physically changing over time, developing new types of creatures and losing other creatures.

    Explanation:

In order to have a good grasp of the answer, let's checkout what "evolution" means.

Evolution - this is defined as the way in which living things change over millions of years. It is also known as the gradual process of change and development.

One evolution theory supporting the diversity of species is Darwin's Theory known as the "Natural Selection." According to this theory, species change over time, some traits become more common, others less. "Speciation" also occurs which means that new species evolve from older ones and that here is also a common ancestry of different species.
