Take for example, acupuncture which is a type of complementary therapy can be employed to reduce a client's pain after undergoing surgery.

    Complementary medicine is not the same as alternative medicine as it is employed in conjunction with conventional medicine. Alternative medicine is employed instead of conventional medicine.
