A yeast cell has 32 chromosomes. How many chromosomes would be found in it's daughter cells after meiosis?

    Explanation:

    Meiosis can be described as a process of cell division in which the number of chromosomes gets half of the parent cell so that the daughter cell receives a recombination of both paternal and maternal genome. Crossing over and independent assortment of chromosomes are the two phenomenon in meiosis due to which variations occur.

    Hence, if a yeast cell has 32 chromosomes, then after meiosis the number of chromosomes would reduce to half i. e 32/2 which is 16.
