Genes A, B, and C are located on the same chromosome. testcrosses show that the recombination frequency between A and B is 28% and that between A and C is 12%. can you determine the linear order of these genes? Еxplain.

    Genes that have a higher recombination frequency tend to located closer to each other than genes of lower recombination frequency. This is because genes closer together have a higher probability of being on the same chromosome after crossing over or homologous recombination during meiosis. Hence as AB have a higher recombination frequency they are located closer to each other than AC. Thus the order can be ACB or CAB. If the recombination frequency between C and B is high as well, the answer would be ACB, otherwise, it would be CAB.
