    True

    Explanation:

Pepo is the term that is used for the plants which have fruits that are surrounded by a hard or a leathery rind along with flattened seeds and fleshy pulp. The inferior ovary having a parietal type of placentation is responsible for giving rise to such fruits. The leathery outer rind of the fruit has exocarp as well as the receptacle tissue present in it wheres the fleshy part is formed by the mesocarp and the endocarp. Such fruits lack internal division by a septum. These fruits are a type of specialized berry. The fruits belong to the cucurbit and squash family are called pepos and thus, pumpkins, melons, squashes, and cucumbers are all examples of pepos.
