Scouring is the process where by rubbing very hardly, to clean a dirt, specially to make a clean or bright. To carry away the dirt as by current or water, often with off and on away. Especially for the purpose of cleaning; to clean by friction.

example: To scour pots and pans and to scour grease from pots and pans.
