I googled it, so I can't guarantee this, but if you google father of anthropometry, Alphonse Bertillon immediately comes up in big letters. It says he was a French police officer and biometrics researcher who applied to Anthropologie logical technique of anthropometry to lawn force meant creating an identification system based on physical measurements.
