According to its estimates, there are 1,000 sunbathers evenly spread along the beach and the each sunbather will buy one ice-cream cone per day pro - vided that the price plus any transportation (disutility) cost does not exceed $5. Each sunbather incurs a transportation (disutility) cost of leaving the comfort of their chair and umbrealla to get a cone and return to their spot of 25 cents per 0.25 mile. Each cone costs $0.50 to make and DeliceCon incurs a cost of $40 per day to run one of its stands. We would like to know how many stands DellceCon should operate and the price per cone that it should charge at each stand to maximize its profit.
