    The amount of heat needed to increase the temperature of 250 g water from 20 c to 46.7 c is calculated as follows

    Q = MC delta T, where

    Q = heat = ?

    M = mass = 250 g

    C = specific heat capacity of water = 4.186 j/g c

    delat T = change in temperature = 46.7 - 20=26.7 c

    Q = 250 g x4.186 j/g/c x26.7 c = 27941.55 j which is approximate to

    28000 j (answer A)
