Ordinary household bleach is an aqueous solution of sodium hypochlorite. what is the molarity of a bleach solution that contains 32.4 g of sodium hypochlorite in a total volume of 499 ml?

    Sodium hypochlorite chemical name would be NaOCl. Then, the molecular weight should be:23 + 16 + 35.5 = 74.5 g/mole

    Molarity unit is mole of molecule divided by 1000ml of solvent, in this case water. Then for 32.4g of molecule with 499ml solvent it would be:

    32.4g / (74.5g/mole) / (1000ml/499ml) = 0.87 m
