Ideal fuel is a fuel which on burning doesn't emit harmful gases it is easy to transport and store it is also of very low cost and gives more heat per weight, It also have a high calorific value. It should have low ignition temp. ex. - Natural gas, LPG, CNG. Natural gas is very good

Characteristic of an ideal fuel:
(1) The fuel should have high calorific value.
(2) The fuel should have proper ignition temperature.
(3) The rate of combustion should be balanced and moderate.
(4) The content of non volatile substances should be as low as possible.
