Calculate the resulting ph obtained by mixing 16.5 g hcl and 22.6 g nacl in water to create 482 l solution.

    pH = 3.03

    Explanation;

    NaCl is a neutral salt and does not affect the pH.

    moles HCl = g HCl / MM

    = 16.5 / 36.5

    = 0.452 equivalent to moles H+

    Molarity H + = moles H + / L

    = 0.452 / 482

    = 0.000938 M

    Hence; pH = - log[H+]

    = - log (0.000938)

    = 3.03
