Given that,
pOH of solution = ?
[H+] of solution = 0.000001M
Recall that pH is the negative logarithm of hydrogen ion concentration in the solution. It is mathematically expressed as:
pH = - log (H+) where H + is the concentration of hydrogen ion.
So, pH = - log (H+)
pH = - log (0.000001)
pH = - (-6)
pH = 6 [The two minus signs cancelled out]
Note that pH value of 6 is mildly acidic because any pH value less than 7 is said to be acidic
Thus, if the [H]=0.000001 the pH is 6
