I guess the problem here is in balancing the equation;
The expression given;
Fe (OH) ₃ → Fe₂O₃ + H₂O
In balancing any chemical equation, the law of conservation of matter comes to mind.
From the law we have been able to deduce that the amount of reactants and products formed are the same in any chemical reaction.
By virtue of this, we can balance any chemical equation.
let us take a, b and c as the numbers that will balance the equation;
aFe (OH) ₃ → bFe₂O₃ + cH₂O
Conserving Fe; a = 2b
O: 3a = 3b + c
H: 3a = 2c
let us assume that b = 1
a = 2
c = 3
2Fe (OH) ₃ → Fe₂O₃ + 3H₂O
