Limestone is primarily a crystal form of caco 3 . How many moles of oxygen are in a 1.25 mol sample of caco 3 ? Only include the numerical value in your answer. Do not include units.

    Molar mass of CaCO3 = [40 + 12 + (16*3) ] = 100g/mol.

    From the stoichiometry,

    1 mole = molar mass

    1.25 moles of CaCO3 = x moles of oxygen

    X = (1.25 * 3) / 100 = 0.0375 moles of oxygen

    Therefore, 0.0375 moles of oxygen is present in 1.25 moles of CaCO3
