Punishment for first DUI
Generally, your first DUI charge will be considered a misdemeanor offense, and you will be punished with fines, community service, license suspension, and possible probation. However, other factors can change the level or nature of your charge resulting in enhanced sentences or penalties.
Conditions for Licence suspension for first DUI offense
After 10 days, a license may be suspended for six (6) months to one (1) year. A first-time DUI conviction carries a mandatory suspension of at least 180 days. However, a DUI arrest does not necessarily mean conviction. Apply for your temporary, restricted driver's license. You can do this at your local DMV office.
