    In the story "In of mice and men by John Steinbeck, Shows the theme of loneliness which impacts the characters of Candy, Crooks as well as Curly's wife.

    Candy lost his right hand in a ranch accident. This physical limitations allows him to only sweep in his old age and and make only thirty dollars on the farm. His dog was a champion ship herder previously but was later shot by Carlson because the dog had lived beyond it's value. Candy in the story is potrayed as very lonely because of his disability and old age.
