    Also the reward of a nation's sacrifices are not measured in monetary riches but in the values of a free society because winning over apartheid was a difficult accomplishment that required the contributions of many people. He implies that It takes courage to admit that one's past deeds were wrong so as to learn from the mistakes of the past to create a better future, in which racism does not exist.
