Jack, Ralph, and Roger meeting the beast goes wrong. They tell Piggy and Ralph says they are very brave, but when they act they are cowards. Jack is offended and calls a meeting in which he will try to put people against Ralph to stop him from being the boss, but he doesn't achieve it. Crying, he leaves with the hunters and says he does not remain in the group. Piggy and Ralph think about their options, because with the beast out there they are afraid to move from the platform. Ralph says that when it gets dark Jack will come back.
In the assembly, and without the self-expelled Jack and the hunters, they decide to make the bonfire next to the platform and Ralph warns that there are children missing.
Piggy, along with the twins, goes for a feast of fruit to share with Ralph, who is very grateful.
Meanwhile, Simon is in the area of the fruit trees with a scorching heat that starts to knock him unconscious.
Jack decides to hunt and manages to capture a boar. But on noticing that they did not have a fire, Jack says that they will go to the platform, and while he misled them, the others would steal some fire from them. After killing the boar, Jack sticks its head into a stake. Simon is on the ground, seeing the head of the boar, and begins to have a series of hallucinations. The flies of the guts go to Simon (the Lord of the Flies is mentioned for the first time). Jack's group is going to steal the fire and they make an invitation to their tribe.
Simon is pulling with the Lord of the Flies, who threatens to end Simon's life.
