Read the passage. When I was in high school in San Diego, we spent our free days playing volleyball on the soft, sandy shore. Laughing, wrestling, dashing in and out of waves, we boys were completely free of responsibility. We leaped, twisted, wove, and dive-bombed over the sand dunes until late in the morning, when families bearing colorful umbrellas, lounge chairs, and children arrived. When the sand got hot enough to burn our feet, we swam out to meet the waves. What is the writer's purpose in this paragraph?

A. to notify and explain

B. to explain and entertain

C. to convince and suggest
