    The great Mosque of Isfahan is an ancient Mosque found in Iran. It dates as far back as the 11th century, when the Seljuk Turks established the City Isfahan as their capital.

    Over the years the mosque has been restructured, as some additions were made to it during the rule of Il-Khanid, Timurid, Safavid, and Qatar. Under the rule of Malik Shah I (who ruled between 1072-1092) and his immediate successors, the mosque attained its current four-iwan design.
