Describe the San Andreas fault and how it affects the southwestern United States

The San Andreas fault is a famous fault along the transform plate boundary through California.

When transform boundaries slide past each other, a great amount of disruption occurs, along with faults comes earthquakes.

All land east of the fault is moving to the southwest under the influence of plate tectonics.
