How do historians believe the bubonic plague reached Europe?

    It was a somewhat long process. Bubonic Plaque a deadly bacteria spread by the fleas that lived on rats carried the disease on ships from lands that were contaminated. The origin though was believed to have been Asia. Some believe the Mongols started it, when they hurled dead infected into sieges cities.
