We are here today to remember the life of Mohandas Gandhi, leader of the Indian independence movement. An assassin cut short Gandhi's life, but we should best remember him not for his death but for the way he chose to live.

He was a great man who freed his people with a peaceful protest called a nonviolent protest, one of his most known protest was for the freedom of having salt when the British took over. With a crowd of people behind him they all walked to the beach and started gathering their own salt. The British put many people that day into prision including Gandhi.
