What was the prevailing economic challenge in the United States face that started World War II

    The US around the 1940's were facing the Great Depression. At first they did not want to enter World War II. But when Japan bombed Pearl Harbor, they could not let an attack like that go unchallenged. The US went to war, and were able to pull out of the Great Depression.
