What does separation of church and state mean?

Churches cannot make laws that violate state laws.

The government cannot make laws based on religion.

Churches are built a certain distance from state buildings,

The government has to make separate laws for churches.

    B. The government cannot makes laws based on religion. It's the only reasonable one. Sorry if it is wrong tho, but I'm sure it's B.
