In my opinion, the industrial revolution was one of the important causes of the first world war. As we know, the industrial revolution brought many new technologies, such as steam engine. The development of technology requires production and the production of products needs to be sold, but the market of many countries cannot accommodate the large amount of production, which prompts them to look for overseas markets. For example, the British wanted to dump their products on China, but their products were hard to sell in China, so they started a war against China (the war was called the opium war in China). The more capital the British win through China, the more advanced their technology. On the other hand, the new technology invented during the industrial revolution became the main weapon in the first world war. Before that, the war between human beings was all cold weapons, but in the first world war, guns, ammunition, artillery, the mode of transportation, because the technology of the first industrial revolution has laid the foundation.
