    Explanation:

    In most of Western Europe we had democracies. Best examples are Britain, France, Benelux countries, etc. On the other side, in Eastern Europe most of the countries were under the communist regime. Best examples for this are Soviet Union, Poland, Czechoslovakia, etc. It is interesting to mention example of Germany, which was divided, in the same manner. Western part was democratic, Eastern was communistic.
