George Washington's main goal as President of the United States was to establish respect for the office of the Presidency. Why was that his goal? How did he try to establish that respect? Does it seem to you that respect for the office of President of the United States has dwindled over the years? Why or why not? Do not focus on downfalls of one specific president.
