    One of the first attempts to deal with the racial discrimination and fighting for equality was the Civil Rights movement. This was a struggle for social justice that took place during the 1950s for coloured people to gain equal rights under the law in the U. S.

    It was considered as ironic because on the one hand, the African Americans were fighting for making the law equal and just, but on the other they were treated badly for the society and that impacted on the law as well.
