What I would answer is:
Rituals to celebrate important life events and predict and control misfortunes. Rituals brought human beings and spirits into contact through ceremonial drumming, singing, and dancing moved priests and worshippers to trancelike states in which they acted and spoke as the spirits themselves. Believed in spirits/souls existed before birth. God created universe, is transcendent, cares about the affairs of humans, and is a god of justice.
