Explain Slavery and rule of law in a historic context.

Slavery is defined as the recruitment, transportation, transfer, harboring, or receipt of persons by improper means which include force, abduction, fraud, or coercion. This is done for an improper purpose including forced labor or sexual exploitation.

During the 17th century, the Americans were engaged in slave trade which they import from African countries inorder for them to work in the farms or other business enterprises. These slave traders, most times, exploit the slaves sexually or kill them without no recourse to the rule of law.

It was such a big issue then that efforts were made to end the slave trade which was successful with the passing off the ratification of the 13th Amendment in 1865.

During those periods, rule of laws was non-existent with so many slaves maimed just because they demanded better working condition, or just because the fall in love with their owners daughter. Even though that it has been abolished (slave trade), there is still forms of slave trading going on secretly in the world currently in various form with a projection made of up to 45 million people sold and under a form of slave in various part of the world.
