Answer: Pahlavi pushed for westernization in Iran, while Khomeini brought about religious reform in that nation.

    Explanation:

Reza Pahlavi was the last Shah of Iran and is known for trying to modernize his country along Western lines. During his reign, billions were spent on Economic reform with a focus on education, health and industry. Iran saw growth that surpassed the principal Western nations such as the US and Britain. He pushed for Western policies to be accepted in a mainly Muslim nation such as Equal Rights for women, social amneties like Cinemas and even the drinking of alcohol.

These amongst other things were to be his downfall as a revolution aimed at restoring Islamic values tore down his government and brought forth Ayatollah Khomeini.

Ayatollah Khomeini became Iran's for Supreme leader and his philosophy was that Religion should be above all including the government. In his position he instituted great Religious change in Iran by bringing back Islamic values and even making them stricter. His goal was to complete eradication of Western influence in Iran and he set about doing this vigorously.
