The tenth amendment protects the powers of the state governments.
Explanation:
According to the tenth amendment of the constitution, states have the power to choose laws within their states.
Any law which directly does not belong to to the federal government, belongs to the state governments.
This gives significant power to the state governments pass laws for certain things like education and different processes so that they can control their state affairs.
