The correct answer is Aztec people led by Moctezuma.

Moctezuma led the people of Aztec rebellion against the Spanish Christianity influence because they had their religious system. During the war, they used projected weapons, slings, spears, and bow and arrows.

In March 1519, Hernan Cortes learned about the natives of the great Aztec civilization, then ruled by Moctezuma. Cortes and his men reached Tenochtitlan, where Montezuma and his people welcomed the guests according to Aztec custom. Though the Aztecs had superior numbers, their weapons were inferior. Hence Cortes immediately took Montezuma hostage, gaining control of Tenochtitlan. The Spanish army then murdered thousands of Aztec during a ritual dance ceremony, and Montezuma died under uncertain circumstances while in custody.

    The Aztecs

    Explanation:

For the Aztec emperor, the Spaniards were unpredictable, as they did not fit into any of the models he knew: the Aztecs fought according to pre-established rules of combat, as in a tournament, while the Spaniards used all means to surprise the enemy. In addition, the Aztecs had a cyclical view of history, believed that everything occurs in cycles, which are repeated regularly.

The Aztecs believed that before this world was created, other worlds existed, having been created and destroyed. When something new happened, the Aztecs tried to somehow fit it into prophecies. That is why, it seems, several of the prophecies made about the return of Quetzacoatl were made after the arrival of the Spanish and not before.

Creating prophecies about what has already happened would be a way of psychologically accepting and overcoming the past. As you can see, the Aztecs conceived reality as something rigid and immutable, while the Spaniards found it easier to improvise, managing to adapt to new circumstances.
