The media is responsible for spreading fear to the audience.

The imaginary of fear is fed by several factors, one of which is the treatment that the media makes of events. The media constitute the great stage in which those people, groups or ideas that seek social repercussion are exposed. They are a public showcase, granting entity and presence. From it, his existence is built. Social conflicts reach visibility from the space given to them in the media. They exist beyond the individuality of their protagonists, when they are captured by the media.

And if they decide to give them more press they become protagonists. And when they invade, again and again with the same and the same news it becomes part of the collective unconscious, shaping the perceptions and putting color to the lenses with which reality is seen.

The media is not static. They are not just common places where events are exposed to people. They play a much more significant and partial role in the complex world of information. The media not only inform, but also are clear opinion makers. That is why there are hegemonic and counter hegemonic media that fight constantly and politically to win a space in the minds of the spectators. And that's why the media is a powerful weapon in current politics.
