The two party system causes differing opinions on different matters. Democracy is all about people having a voice in government. If people couldn't express their opinions then that would be the opposite of the principles of what this country was founded on. One of the democratic principles this country was founded on is political freedom which means you have the right to choose which ever side you want and are allowed to have independent thoughts on certain matters. The two party system does promote democratic principles through freedoms which is what this country is all about.
