Why did Longstreet urge Lee not to continue the Battle of Gettysburg

    Longstreet was against the invasion of Pennslyvania. he thought the army should be trying to stop Grant from liberating the Mississpi area. Longstreet also knew that the Union positions were very strong and didn't think that the South would win very easily. He was strongly against unwanted bloodshed.
