The Great Emu War occurred when the Emu population in Australia was getting out of hand. The emus were eating all of the crops and they would sometimes chase after citizens. The Australian government decided they had to do something to keep the emu population in check, so they declared war on them. They used actual military weapons. They were able to eradicate some of the emu population but not all. So many say that in the end, the emus won.
