Describe the teaching Paul refuted in Romans, Chapter 4, and how he opposed it. Use complete sentences.

    it can seem a little confusing but if you read the entire chapter you will see that paul is refuting the idea that faith is based in works and that it is not the law or adherence to the law which saves us ... he give abraham as an example, showing that abraham had the faith to serve and follow God before the law of circumsision was instated and that what God is after from us is our faith in him and our willingness to follow him, which will eventually lead us to also being obedient to him ... but that faith comes first.

    it is basically another way of saying that we are saved by faith, not by our works
