    The main purpose of Thomas Paine's pamphlet Common Sense was to B) argue for independence from British rule. The pamphlet was created so that the people of the colonies could clearly see and understand the reasons for independence from Great Britain and the immediate necessity of this idea. It became very popular very quickly at the time.
