Compare urban-based early river civilizations with pastoral and nomadic societies in terms of gender relations, economic developments, and political organization.

1) The civilizations of the first stages of the river were characterized as being the forerunners of modern cities, they were distinguished because they had large nearby villages, were dedicated to fishing, agriculture (if it had already been discovered) and the peasants and builders, as well as potters and craftsmen were the most common professions. A ruler was established for the city, while the economy was based on trade in products produced by peasants and artisans. They could have an army, and tall walls arround the city.

2) In nomadic societies houses were not established, only tent, horses or camels were used as means of transport, they lived from hunting and fishing, while on many occasions they fought battles and became towns invaders like the Huns. A council of elders and the leader or king was the leader, and the economy could come from hunting and trading until attacks on sedentary villages; if society was pastoral they changed places in the cold months and lived mainly from the crops. In both cases, the relationship of men and women was, except in matriarchal societies, the same, with the woman subordinate to the care of the children and to household tasks.
