New immigrants started to arrive, these are people from Southern, Eastern, and SouthernEastern Europe.
These are people including the southern Italy (yeh it matters since Italy is divided and not state rn and southern Italy is very poor compared to Northen Italy), Poland, several ethnicities from the Balkans (which is under Austrian Empire occupation rn), Russia, and Jews.
These people which are described above a little bit are poor and not educated; some of them can not read and they can not speak English. Problems get worse when these populations are Catholic which starts an anti-catholic movement in the USA.
Some of these new immigrants will actually come to the United States to work in the industrial factories for decent good wages then come back to their families in Europe to share the money,

The number of immigrants coming from Eastern and Southern Europe started to increase. At first, the Northern and Western European groups kept coming at the same rate as before but the amount of people coming from those regions started to drop off and eventually, the majority of immigrants were coming from Eastern and Southern Europe.
