    I assume you're talking about what had happened after World War 1, when Germany lost and their economy crashed.

    After the crash, the Treaty of Versailles declared that Germany owed money, due to the damage they had caused. Of course, Germans did not like losing their glory, and as a result, turned to a dictator (Adolf Hitler) to restore their power and pride. Nationalism was a big factor here. Hitler's group, the Nazi's, blamed the Jews for being the root of the cause, and this lead to the fleeing and genocide of many Jews.
