The 1980's was a period of 3 government administrations. It was the last year of Jimmy Carter as President, the whole eight years of Ronald Reagan's administration and the first few years of George H. W. Bush. This decade is remembered for its materialism, consumerism and the rise of "yuppies" or "baby boomers". This is also the time that blockbuster movies exploded and cable networks like MTV emerged. This lead to the rise of music videos and the launch to many iconic artists.
