The correct answer is A. The Puritans weren't tolerant of other religions and followers of other religions were persecuted by the Puritans.

This is why many new colonies were actually found. People fled from religious prosecution and wanted to live in colonies where they could live freely with their religious beliefs unharmed. The puritans disliked all other religions and considered them to be blasphemous.
