The student council publish the results of the survey about the new school mascot Jesse spilled water on the paper but she knows that 72% of students choose a mascot other than a tiger how many students choose a Viking as their mascot

    It percent must be a 100%. So if she knows that 72% students choose a mascot, then take 100% subtract 72% you'll get 28%. Which mean the other 28% of the student will choose a Viking as their mascot.
