    To determine the number of red beads that needs to be combined with the 72 orange beads in order to make bracelets, we determine first the ratio based on the initial formula.

    ratio of orange beads/red beads = 8 orange / 3 red

    Then, we represent the number of red beads for the second set of materials by x and use ratio and proportion,

    8/3 = 72 / x

    Cross-multiplying,

    8x = (72) (3)

    Divide the equation by 8,

    x = 27

    Hence, 27 red beads will be needed.

    The same can be done if we are to find the number of other beads for making the bracelets.
